Here at Dance Reflections, we believe the art of dance brings many aspects to each of our special students. Dance helps in the development of strength, coordination, balance, grace, poise and most important self-confidence. Our classroom philosophy is based on teaching students how to dance in a positive, enthusiastic, safe, kind, and disciplined atmosphere and to promote passion for dance. Dance Reflections is filled with many fun classes, but each class is structured and taught with proper technique, patience, and attention to detail. We are committed to providing a personal, highly skilled and trained dance experience for each and every one of our dancers. We strive to create a warm, fun, loving and inclusive place where the art of dance unfolds from each of our students at all different levels. Miss Heather only takes a limited number of students to keep her studio personable and family oriented. We are a dance studio that is 100% focused on the ART, ENTERTAINMENT and LOVE of DANCE and friendship!
Owner and Instructor,
MRS. HEATHER HAPEMAN
Hello! I am Miss Heather and I reside in Albion with my husband, Jared, our daughter, Coraline and our 2 dogs, Finley and Olive. My whole life I have always wanted to be a teacher and a dancer. I absolutely loved to dance so my mom enrolled me in classes, here in Albion with Miss Rhonda. I fell in love with the art and I danced my whole childhood, starting at the age of 3 years old. After I graduated high school, I started my college career at GCC, earning an Associates Degree in Teacher Education. After graduation, I transferred to SUNY Brockport where I minored in dance and dance instruction along with majoring in English. After completing my dance courses at SUNY Brockport, I chose to continue my college education at Roberts Wesleyan College, majoring in Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. Although I only have a few classes left to complete my Bachelor's Degree, I decided to take a break from college as my heart yearned for dance and the dream of opening my own dance studio. My dream became reality as Dance Reflections by Miss Heather was opened in 2006! From that point forward, I also attended, and continue to do so, many dance conventions including Dance Caravan and Dance Olympic and have also studied at the Dance Teacher Live Conference in Niagara Falls to stay up to date on the latest styles and techniques.
My husband, Jared is a Production Supervisor at Saint-Gobain AdFors. We were both born and raised in our little hometown of Albion, NY. Outside of the dance studio, school and work, we enjoy so many things together, especially camping in the summertime. We are avid Buffalo Bills fans and enjoy spending time with our family and friends. I have so many things to be grateful for including Dance Reflections, but becoming a mommy to the most precious little girl has been the biggest blessing of all!!!
My intentions for Dance Reflections has never been about a monetary value, but rather being able to share my love, passion and expertise for dance with children of all ages. I truly enjoy my job!! A special thank you to everyone who has made my dream come alive and for all of those who entrust their child to learn from me. I'm honored every year to work with the most wonderfully talented, kind-hearted children and to have their families become part of my family! It's an amazing experience every year and a true honor and blessing!!
